Omega, founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds and originally known as La Generale Watch Co., officially became Omega SA in 1984. The brand soared in the 20th century, impressing NASA enough to choose the Omega Speedmaster Professional Chronograph in 1965 for all manned space missions. In 1969, Buzz Aldrin wore it on the moon, marking it as the first watch on the moon. Even Elvis Presley was a fan—his Speedmaster fetched $1.6 million at a 2014 auction. Omega’s legacy stretches from space to style, becoming James Bond’s official watch with models like Pierce Brosnan’s Seamaster 300M and Daniel Craig’s Planet Ocean. They also excel in sports, timing events like the Olympic Games and America’s Cup.
