The Omega Dynamic collection is a distinctive and innovative line of watches that made its debut in 1968. Originally inspired by the Prix de Ville de Genève in 1965, the Dynamic quickly gained popularity for its unique design, multifaceted functionality and modern appeal as well as the major boost the brand received by being U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s choice of wristwear. Unlike many of Omega's other collections, the Dynamic was purposefully created to attract a younger audience, offering a fresh, cool and contemporary take on the luxury watch market. The Dynamic's defining feature is its elliptical-shaped case, designed for ergonomic comfort while projecting non-conformist style. Available in various sizes and bold dial colors like black, blue, gold, gray, and silver, these models came with leather or steel bracelets. The first generation (1968-1972) was a huge success selling over 1 million units, with models like the reference 166.079 featuring automatic movements like the caliber 752 and plexiglass crystals. The second generation introduced an angled case for easier readability and was also a hit. Over half a century later, Dynamic watches remain highly sought after in both vintage and modern markets, appealing to a wide range of collectors with their blend of classic designs and contemporary re-releases.
